graphics is similar to varndean - but you get a lot more freedom, except for the first project.
history is really good - you do the same stuff (plus american civil rights movement) in more detail but its really interesting - and the stuff on russia is sweet.

okay.. i hope this is useful and not just me rambling on about myself:

history is ok - you look at Russia from 1905-17 and yeh the Nazis again. and you also do civil rights in the usa, like martin luther king and malcolm x. i really enjoyed history and doing the same stuff again isnt so bad because you learn about different aspects of what you already know about. also it seems to be quite well regarded in terms of universities if thats perhaps what you want to do. towards the end of the year i think you kinda run out of steam but yeh. it is quite easy to do quite well in.

english - i do eng lit which i dunno, i would only really reccommend if you like to read and analyse texts. you do a shakespeare play, some modernish poetry, Jane Eyre, and a piece of coursework on the birthday party which is a bit of a sketchy/funny play. throughout the year i dont think i ever felt particularly happy about english because of the teachers anddd the people that do it tend to be a bit pretentious. so if you do it it would be like "hum yah this shows the imagery in this and oh the symbolism" BUT you dont have to be pretentious to be good at it (!!!) if you arent actually interested that much though i wouldnt bother. i know quite a few people who thought they were good at it and so took it and just couldnt be arsed with it. and also some people who do like reading etc dont like the style of teaching/teachers/boring. it is a bit boring. but the exam isnt hard.

i hope that wasnt too long. glad to see youve chosen psychology - if you chose old varny, youd really enjoy it there.

i do arrrrrrrrrt paintingggg.
IIIIIII think its well good like. you actually learn how to paint. cos at school they dont tell you how to at all. and its not all painting, you drawwwww loads as well, so you wont get bored of paint. i think if you want to improve your aristic skillzz then you should do art painting. theres alot of work mind. but there is for every subject. so yeah.
lots of love joe

Liam says that history is abit wack,
but i just did my scholarship exam on it and was like "oh shit mate i really like history"
but then for my c/w i was like "i never want to do history again" so i dunno if im going to do it????

Im doing both english's because my mother wants me to o english lit because it's 'higly regarded' and I want to do english language because I want to be able to write better than i can now.

And Im doing both art's becasue I cant decide which one I will like better and I really like painting but I'm shit at it. So hopefully if I do art painting I'll get better.

WELL

I personally really dislike History, which seems to be against the trend here. I had already studied Nazi Germany and USA Civil Rights at GCSE, which didnt help. And I didnt really enjoy Russia, not really my thing. I also found the teachers almost unbearable, they're probably the most patronising ones I've had since year 9. Although saying that I'd say the way you study is really good. It's much more analytical than GCSE, which makes everything much more interesting, if not slightly more challenging.

Psychology is really good, although if you have a teacher like John Briggs, as I did, you'll have to be much more independant than you're probably used to, you're often expected to do work, without being told to do it, or with it being taken in, which I found really hard, its just getting used to it really. The content of the course is ace, you look at all the aspects of Psychology etc.

You should definetely go to Varndean too. Fuck Bhasvic etc etc.

Haha, I saw someone else with it, and thought what a loser they were, going to all that efforts just for a (justified) dig at the Lib Dems, and I thought yehhh man cool.

I do english language! I like it, I find a lot of the stuff really easy, cos you go over and over it all, but i got lower marks than i'd hoped for in some of the written work so far....but it's all good! and way better than literature.

in my opinion:
graphics is fucking good, lots of 'freedom' to do whatever you want,
photography is shit, they only give you good marks if you go CRAZY and scratch 'HATE FUCKING HATE' on the negatives, or tint it blue or something shit.
psychology is well interesting

I used to do both, I'm not in college anymore. I prefered music, but that was cause of the teacher and he's left now. I dunno, music is really hard unless your like, grade 5 at an instrument or something. Music tech is a lot easier but a complete nause.
